Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has
no limit. -Psalms 147:5
Have you ever not understood something? Of course you have.
You probably felt that way on the first day of a math or biology class you took
in middle school, high school or college. If you would’ve known and understood
everything about what the class will teach you, you would have tested out. Have
you ever not understood someone? Of course you have. Maybe it was that coworker
that annoys you and asks the weirdest questions during a meeting. Or the guy in
the car behind you that beeps at you even though the light is still red.
Usually you’re going to not understand something or someone.
But have you ever not understood yourself? Have you ever caught yourself
talking to yourself? It usually happens after a huge mistake you’ve made. We
sometimes say to ourselves, “why did I just do that”? There are some instances
in our lives where we feel as if we don’t understand ourselves. We don’t
understand why we are feeling a certain way or why we did certain things.
Sometimes we don’t even understand what we want.
Many times in those instances the solution is not to search
deep inside of us, but to lean closer to God. Here’s the good news; take
comfort in knowing that Great is our Lord
and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. This lets you off the
hook in having to know everything about yourself and others. Trust in God and
His understanding when you don’t understand and when you THINK you understand. Why,
you ask? Because He not only has limitless understanding, He also has your best
interest in mind.
What worries have been distracting you from the most important things in life? What situations have tricked you into thinking that you need to understand everything and have absolute control rather than trusting in God and His understanding for your life?
